The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made an official announcement regarding the India Women’s squad selection and the schedule for the upcoming T20Is and ODIs against Bangladesh. The Indian women’s cricket team, known for their remarkable performances on the international stage, is gearing up to face the Bangladesh women’s team in a series of T20Is and ODIs. Let’s delve into the details of the squad selection and the schedule of matches.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced the squad for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against the Bangladesh women’s team. The series is set to commence from July 9 and will feature three matches in each format. All the matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.
When we look at the squad, Harmanpreet Kaur has been appointed as the captain, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy in both the T20I and ODI squads. Yastika Bhatia, who previously represented the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), will be the designated wicketkeeper. Notably, Richa Ghosh, who has often taken up the wicketkeeping responsibilities, has not been included in either squad. Uma Chetry, hailing from Assam, has been selected as the second wicketkeeper for both the T20Is and ODIs.
Radha Yadav, a prominent name, surprisingly does not feature in either squad. Sneh Rana, another player, will only participate in the ODIs, as mentioned in the BCCI press release. Meghana Sabbineni, Rana’s teammate from the Gujarat Giants, is included solely in the T20I squad.
The series will commence with the T20Is, with the final match scheduled for July 13. The ODIs will begin on July 16, and the series will conclude on July 22.
